The units, valued at over $3.5 million dollars, each, were part of a new 500-kilometer transmission between points north of Edmonton to south of Calgary. LCI used 2 Manitowoc 2250 crawler cranes (300 US ton) to load the transformers onto specially fitted railcars, then welded to the railcars by certified LCI Ironworkers.
