In 2006, Lakehead Constructors completed storm water collection improvements to the CN Railway's Duluth, Minnesota facility. The new storm water collection system processes water used by the facility for dust control. A new storm water pond, culvert improvements, and over 2,200 feet of piping were installed. Lakehead Constructors self-performd this work, including installation of two to 24-inch diameter High Density Polyethylene Pipe (HDPE), fused by certified operators.

Accomplishments:

High spring storm water runoff rates required that the work be constructed without interrupting the adjacent active rail line. The project was completing without injury.
